DOOR SPECIFICATION: 1. Doors shall be manufactured of: 20 gage for light Commercial applications with minimal use and abuse; 18 gage for heavy Commercial and Institutional applications with high use; 16 gage for extra heavy Commercial and Institutional applications having the potential of very high use; 14 gage for extra heavy Commercial and Institutional applications with extremely high use. 2. Hot-dip galvannealed (zinc-iron alloy coated) steel A40 is standard for interior and exterior doors. A60 is available if specified.Galvanized (zinc-coated) steel is available for exterior doors or where is specified. 3. Each door shall be filled with specified core such as: a) honeycomb - for interior doors; b) stiffeners (ribs) w/fiberglass - for interior doors; c) polystyrene or polyurethane - for exterior doors; d) stiffeners fully insulated with fiberglass (or rockwool) - exterior doors. 4. Door edges could be squared, beveled by 1/8" over 2" (standard), bullnose, etc.if required. 5. Door shall have visible (lockseam), filled (seamless) or welded edge construction as specified. 6. Doors shall have inverted steel channels welded-in at both ends. Cap top or both top & bottom is available. 7. Doors to be shop prime painted. 8. Doors to be furnished with Underwriters Laboratories label as required.

1. Frames shall be manufactured of (12, 14,16 or 18) gage. Hot-dip galvannealed (zinciron alloy coated) steel A40 is standard. A60 is available if specified. Galvanized (zinc-coated) steel is available. 2. Frames shall be mitered and welded. Miters shall have a precision hairline joint when assembled. Stops to be butted. 3. Heads shall be reinforced for surface applied closers, holders or brackets when required. 4. Hinge reinforcements shall be a minimum 3/16" thick. 5. All frames shall be prepared to receive door silencers: three for single frame and two for pair frame. 6. Frames shall be furnished with appropriete anchors as required to suit wall conditions. 7. Frames to be shop prime painted. 8. Frames to be furnished with Underwriters Laboratories label as required.

KD PRESSURE FIT FOR DRY WALL SPEC.: 1. Frames shall be manufactured of (12, 14, 16 or 18) gage. Hot-dip galvannealed (zinciron alloy coated) steel A40 is standard. A60 is available if specified. Galvanized (zinc-coated) steel is available. 2. Frames shall be knocked down for field assembly. Miters shall have a precision hairline joint when assembled. Stops to be butted. 3. Each jamb shall be provided with a permanently installed pressure fit adjusting anchor. 4. Each jamb shall be provided with sill strap anchors for each side of wall. 5. Heads shall be reinforced for surface applied closers, holders or brackets when required. 6. Hinge reinforcements shall be a minimum 3/16" thick. 7. All frames shall be prepared to receive door silencers: three for single frame and two for pair frame. 8. Frames to be shop prime painted. 9. Frames to be furnished with Underwriters Laboratories label as required.

- WOOD FRAME CONSISTING OF WHITE PINE LUMBER IS CONSTRUCTED TO ACCEPT 1/4" HARDBOARD (EUCALYPTUS BOARD) WITH 24 GAUGE GALVANNEALED STEEL FACE SHEETS, LAMINATED TO BOTH SIDES; - 24 GAUGE GALVANNEALED STEEL FACE SHEETS ARE GLUED TO THE WOOD DOOR FRAME; - 24 GAUGE GALVANNEALED STEEL FACE SHEETS ARE NOTCHED AND BENT DOWN INTO THE CUT OUT FOR THE RECESSED PANEL. - STANDARD 1 3/16 X 5/8" KALAMEIN PANEL MOLDING IS NAILED TO THE WOODEN FRAME INSIDE THE CUT-OUT FOR THE RECESSED PANEL; - DROP-IN PANEL IS INCERTED INTO THE CUT-OUT ON TOP OF THE KALAMEIN MOLDING; - KALAMEIN MOLDING IS NAILED TO THE WOODEN FRAME INSIDE THE CUT-OUT FOR THE RECESSED PANEL SECURING THE PANEL IN PLACE; - THE DOOR IS PLACED IN A RACK UNDER PRESSURE FOR 24 HOURS FOR THE GLUE TO CURE FORMING A PERMANENT BOND. - THE DOOR IS PREPPED FOR THE REQUIRED HARDWARE (HINGES, LOCK, ETS.); -KALAMEIN DOORS ARE FIRE RATED UP TO 1 1/2 HOURS. A "BSA" (BOARD OF STANDARD AND APPEALS) LABEL WILL BE PLACED ON THE HINGE SIDE OF THE DOOR.
